Ruby's Reads Recap:
Okay, so, I actually have no business writing a recap, as I've been MIA for over a week now. I moved, which some of you knew about, and shortly before that, my computer had a nervous breakdown. When it started freaking me out with this symbol,
my eyes rolled into the back of my head. Since I was already in the throes of moving mania, and it couldn't be put off, my Computer Crisis went on the backburner. Moving was, as you can imagine, highly stressful. I had to get rid of a lot of stuff. A lot of books, which meant a number of trips to the post office, the Friends of the Library drop-off, Goodwill, and my local used bookstores. Thank heavens I started early.
I'm now (relatively) settled in my new place, but there's no internet yet. I'm making do with the internet at work and in coffee shops. I'm trying to schedule posts in advance, but updates might be a bit irregular until things are smoothed out. Thanks for being patient. Or maybe you're not being patient, in which case: thanks for keeping your impatience to yourself!A few good things did happen on the blog, though:
- Amanda from On a Book Bender stalked me.
- I had a Top Off Tuesday post entitled: Just...No, which I am told has a cover model who resembles Tom Cruise with a mullet.
- I announced the Book Bully Week winners!
- I announced that the Spring Book Exchange sign ups will begin on Feb. 20. Please feel free to grab the button:

- Joint Review with Amanda from On a Book Bender: Half-Blood by Jennifer Armentrout: Vampire Academy 2, now with demons.
- Saturday Sixes: Hero Loves and Hates: I outlined hero traits that make my heart aflutter--and the ones that make it a cold, dead ball of charred flesh beneath my ribcage. Click through for further graphic imagery.
- No. Flipping. Idea. (Because no internet, remember?)
- i am moving to hawaii funny--Actually, I don't think it's all that funny that you're moving to Hawaii. In fact, I think it's kind of sad. FOR ME.
- if you use this computer i'll kill you--Well, you can TRY!
- giant wolves--Yes, thank you.
I have a very, very special vlog to share with you today. Unfortunately, it cut off the end where I rambled on about how I say IMMM whenever I vlog instead of IMM. Those were ten crucial seconds of awesome viewing that I'm sad to say are lost forever.
AMANDA, THIS ONE'S FOR YOU!
After I recorded my vlog, I remembered that I'd also gotten the following books at my local used bookstore:
Breakdown
For Review:
- Angel's Flight by Nalini Singh, courtesy of Berkley Sensation (Penguin)
- Torn by Amanda Hocking, courtesy of St. Martin's Press
- Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare
- Harbinger by Sarah Wilson Etienne
- Illuminated by Erica Orloff
- Heart of Iron by Ekaterina Sedia--Russian Steampunk, I think. I've heard of this author, and I think Logan has read her.
- The Gilded Shroud by Elizabeth Bailey--I used to love historical mysteries, and I couldn't resist this one.
- Dead on the Delta by Stacey Jay--AT LAST! I've been wanting this one for a while, ever since I listened to (and adored) Juliet Immortal.
